Over the past year I have had a bit of a falling out with Low Carbing, life was too busy and sometimes that can really wreck a good thing. Anyway for those of your who have come back to read articles of this blog, or even for those of you who are only now discovering this blog; I’d just like to say I’M BACK! Alright well, I should be getting you quite a few new articles up in the very near future and as always I look forward to your comments and support. For the past few months I have discovered why I loved low carbing so much—well aside for the ability to eat as much meat and veggies as I like that is—I am allergic to quite a few of the carb-filled delights our general population enjoy as a daily food source—namely wheat, corn and all things made of [...]

So why not start off right with a low carb diet! It’s hard to beat a diet that lets you eat meat, vegetables, and dairy products as much as you like. So lets go ahead and take a few minutes to think over some of the perks to low carb for weight loss. In a standard diet you almost always have the following requirements–which lets face it can make food a lot less interesting and lead to some serious binge moments for most of us. *Limited Butter — our favorite flavor is not very popular in traditional diets since it is high in fat content, but for low carbers it’s not a big deal [...]

So if you’re new to this you might be asking yourself, “What is low carb?”, or “What is a low carb diet?” Now the answer is pretty straightforward but it still needs a little explaining. To put it simple a low carb diet is just a eating style that involves eating as little carbohydrates as possible–things such as bread, and noodles, and really pretty much anything made from a grain. Why would someone want to low carb? Generally from my experience there are two types of low carber out there, the ones that want to lose weight, and the ones that don’t feel good when they eat a lot of carbs–carbs can make you feel very run down, and sometimes people can get extremely sleepy after eating carb heavy foods or meals–I am the second one, thought losing a little weight doesn’t hurt for sure. I found out when I was in [...]

Have you ever just come home after a long day at work, and then sort of fizzled out unable to think of a meal with low carbs and more importantly, one that is quick and easy? I know I sure have, and generally when it happens I run right for the horrible for you–but easy and tasty–junk I have laying around from last time I went on a binge…one of the best ways I have found to avoid this, is to have a few “Go To” meals ready–and to keep the ingredients on hand, so I don’t talk myself out of it. So without further ado, here are three of my favorite low carb “Go To” meals: 1. Bacon Egg Salad This one is fairly easy, and really quick, I like to plan to eat something with eggs at least once a week, since they are a wonderful option being [...]

In many cases one of the hardest things for a person to give up when they decide to go low carb is bread. We use bread in sandwiches, toast, and many other normal meal items–including pizza crust. I haven’t found myself having too much trouble with this as I usually don’t eat much bread anyway due to a slight wheat allergy, but for many this is a large hurdle to get over. For those of you that just CAN’T drop bread all together, there are actually some pretty interesting “Low Carb Breads” out these days, that can help with that. Here are a few I have found on the internet that may help you out, usually they are slightly different then a normal bread and to some they just aren’t close enough, but for many others they work wonders for their meal options. Focaccia – Style Flax Bread Low Carb Muffins [...]

Most new low-carbohydrate dieters are worried what to eat. Low-carbing is a different way of life entirely, because most breads, potatoes and corn foods are cut out of your diet. Of course they are the base for almost all American foods and they are high-carb foods – which is most likely a large (no pun intended) contributor to the obesity problems in America. So what can you eat? What can you replace crust for pizza with? Making a low carb food list can help you get your thoughts in order and help you plan meals. Planning meals ahead of time sounds difficult for people with busy schedules but its a vital step in low-carbing. If you come home hungry and have nothing prepared to eat right away – you’re likely to head straight for the carbohydrates. So keep these foods in mind and make some low-carb snacks to hold you [...]

If you are looking to lose ten to twenty pounds rather quickly, the high protein low card diet may be one route you should consider. The basic idea of the diet is that, if few carbohydrates are taken in, the body is more quickly forced to burn its own fat for fuel. In place of carbohydrates, one eats meals high in protein and healthy fats. This is a rather simple diet to follow if approached in the right manner.
